COMMON AIR is a peer-led cultural space for research, residency, and relations in Poblenou, Barcelona.
Operating through a residency-based model, COMMON AIR brings together independent practitioners, researchers, publishers, and cultural initiatives across local and international contexts. It provides time and space for practices to develop through proximity, conversation, experimentation, and shared knowledge.
Rather than working from a fixed curatorial program, COMMON AIR begins with the people and practices that inhabit it. Residents retain authorship of their work while contributing to a shared ecology of research, learning, publishing, gatherings, and public programs.
The space itself is conceived as an adaptable infrastructure — shifting between individual work, collective research, exhibitions, screenings, workshops, meals, and conversation. Programs emerge from within the practices being developed rather than being imposed upon them.
Rooted in Barcelona and connected internationally, COMMON AIR is interested in how cultural space can support longer forms of thinking, reciprocal exchange, and relationships that continue beyond individual projects.
